Week 5, Assignment 2: Blog Post

This week I selected to read the article titled Special education dissertation research in early childhood: A descriptive analysis by Carol Ann Davis, Michael P. Brady, and Nella B. Anderson. As I read the article I was able to obtain information about the wide diversity of investigative methods, topics, and subjects. It appears that research training in early childhood special education is heeding the call for an emphasis on empirical investigation.

As I reviewed the references section it contained included the book titled Early intervention for infants and children with handicaps: An empirical base by Odom & M. Karnes I am interested in researching on the types of early intervention that have been conducted and how effective they have been.

I feel that my research skills have improved immensely. Now I am able to research databases and effectively conduct research. Also I am also able to take notes as I conduct my research. I found that the text book and video tutorials have been very supportive in improving my research skills.
